A good time was had by all as Cosmos and guests gathered Jan. 5, 2023 for a great meal and terrific show, "2 ACROSS".

COSMOPOLITAN SWEETEST DAY OF GOLF AND DISTINGUISHED SERVICE AWARD BANQUET - 2022

Two club traditions that happen every fall are our SDOG event and our DSA Banquet. This year was no exception! Our SDOG event took place on Sept 13 at The Country Club of Sioux Falls and was a great success again! Our DSA Banquet took place on Oct 13 and we honored Greg Sands for his extraordinary contributions to our community. At the Banquet we also made check presentations of $15,000 each to Camp Gilbert and the Veteran's Community Project. These were the funds raised from the SDOG event! See the pictures below.

COSMOPOLITAN NORTH CENTRAL FEDERATION CONVENTION

Seven Sioux Falls Cosmos/guests attended the NCF convention in Rapid City, April 29-May 1, 2022. Because of Covid, we haven't met as NCF for two years so it was good to celebrate together. Governor John Duffield and the Rapid City club did a marvelous job of hosting! Our Sioux Falls Noon club submitted nominations for 4 awards and three brought home Federation honors and so will be submitted for consideration at the nternational Convention in Sioux City in July: Cosmo of the Year - Melvina Newman; Member Community Service - Matt Smith; and Patrick J, Hodgins Award - Bill Kubat. Federations officers for the 2022-23 Cosmo year are Governor, Melvina Newman and Governor-Elect, Ludene McLeod.

Club Activities
Paws Saving Lives

For easy understanding and branding purposes, the "Smooch a Pooch" program is now known as the "Paws Saving Lives" program.  This program is being led by CI's Rick Swansboro from Rockford, Illinois.

For a PowerPoint presentation of how the Diabetic Alert Dog Program works, check out the "Download Files" section in the menu bar at the top of the home page.

A Message from our President

Bill Kubat

Welcome to the website for the Sioux Falls Cosmopolitan Club - “the club that fights diabetes”!  Our club currently meets for lunch the first and third Mondays of each month at 11:45 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. at Cherry Creek Grill.. At each meeting, we have civic leaders, business leaders and other community programs come and visit with us about topics that are in the news or important to our club. At lunch we get to catch up with friends, brag about good things happening in our lives and have some good fun.

Last year our club contributed nearly $31,000 to a range of community causes with a special focus on the education and treatment of diabetes and research to find a cure.

We are involved in many events, charities and fundraisers to support our community, some of which include:

THE SIOUX EMPIRE FAIR

THE SIOUX EMPIRE SPORTSMENS SHOW

THE SWEETEST DAY OF GOLF (last year alone we raised over $20,000 to support scholarships for Camp Gilbert, an all diabetic camp for children with diabetes)

EMBE

BOY'S AND GIRL'S STATE

CRIMESTOPPERS

JUNIOR ACHIEVEMENT

I invite you to join our cause to fight diabetes, have lunch, meet some new people, learn something new about what is going on in our community and have a little fun.
