WE'RE SUSPENDING MEETING AGAIN! Our Club's Board of Directors has decided that given the Coronavirus pandemic and the current spike in numbers, we will suspend in person meetings until January 31, 2021. The Board will revisit the issue at its January meeting. We had been meeting at the SOUTH DAKOTA MILITARY HERITAGE ALLIANCE at 1600 W. Russell St. (across from the Sheraton). Hopefully this will only be a temporary measure for safety considerations over the holiday season. In the meantime, BE SAFE AND BE WELL!

For easy understanding and branding purposes, the "Smooch a Pooch" program is now known as the "Paws Saving Lives" program. This program is being led by CI's Rick Swansboro from Rockford, Illinois.

Ludene McLeod and Lou Rensch visited Camp Gilbert at NeSoDak Camp on Enemy Swim Lake for vendor day. This is the wrap up day for the camp and a few vendors display their offerings and Ludene and I talked to any interested parents about what the Cosmopolitan Club is about and we handed out a few trinkets such as wrist bands (diabetes alert bracelets), pencils and literature about the club. We received several heartfelt thank yous to our club by parents who had received scholarships for their children.
I also visited with the vendors and noted that we have a golf fundraiser coming up in September and gave them one of the sponsor brochures for 2018. Hopefully Jerry Priebe or Lanny Auringer will receive an inquiry or two from this as the interest seemed strong. Monica Wilde stopped by our table and noted her husband is likely going to give us 4 Timberwolve tickets for the raffle!
Vendors attending were:
Novo Nordisk Delta Dental Medtronic Dexcom Omnipod Lilly
We visited with Deidra Bonte (Medtronic) who has volunteered at our golf outings in the past and Stacy Breidenbach (Dexcom) who sounded likely to volunteer to help this year.

Welcome to the website for the Sioux Falls Cosmopolitan Club - “the club that fights diabetes”! Our club currently meets for lunch the first 4 Mondays of each month at 11:45 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. at The South Dakota Military Heritage Alliance (1600 W. Russell St). Every week we have civic leaders, business leaders and other community programs come and visit with us about topics that are in the news or important to our club. At lunch we get to catch up with friends, brag about good things happening in our lives and have some good fun.
Last year our club contributed nearly $31,000 to a range of community causes with a special focus on the education and treatment of diabetes and research to find a cure.
We are involved in many events, charities and fundraisers to support our community, some of which include:
THE SIOUX EMPIRE FAIR
THE SIOUX EMPIRE SPORTSMENS SHOW
THE SWEETEST DAY OF GOLF(last year alone we raised over $20,000 to support scholarships for Camp Gilbert, an all diabetic camp for children with diabetes)
EMBE
BOY'S AND GIRL'S STATE
CRIMESTOPPERS
JUNIOR ACHIEVEMENT
I invite you to join our cause to fight diabetes, have lunch, meet some new people, learn something new about what going on in our community and have a little fun.
